WWF Bhutan Photographs Six Rare Tigers In The Wild! 🐅

Beautiful Tiger

WWF Bhutan has some great news! 🐅

They have taken photographs of six new beautiful Tigers in Bhutan.

The photographs taken by WWF Bhutan were taken by sensory cameras that were placed in the wild. These sensory cameras take pictures every time a person or an animal walks by the cameras.

In this instance, it was Tigers who walked by the cameras.

The WWF can tell that these are six different tigers because of the patterns on each of the tigers. Patterns on a tiger are similar to a fingerprint, each tiger has their own unique pattern on their coat, which is how conservationists distinguish tigers from each other. The pattern of stripes on each tiger is unique to them.

No two tigers share the same stripes!

Bhutan and Tigers

Bhutan is one of the few countries in the world which is home to tigers.

There are 13 different countries where tigers live in the wild; Bhutan is one of those countries. Tigers are only found in some countries in Asia and Russia.

There are two distinct subspecies of tiger in the wild today.

These two distinct subspecies are the continental tiger and the Sunda tiger. The Sunda tiger is more commonly known as the Sumatran tiger.

There are two Sumatran tiger subspecies that are extinct today. The two Sumatran Tiger subspecies which are extinct are the Javan tiger and the Bali tiger.

There are several different subspecies of the continental tiger that are found in the wild today. The most famous continental tiger is the Bengal tiger, which is primarily found in India. Other subspecies of continental tigers include the Malayan tiger, the Indochinese tiger the Amur tiger, and the South China tiger.

What Species Of Tiger Are Found In Bhutan?

Bhutan is home to a very small population of tigers today.

Bhutan is home to the continental tiger; the Bengal tiger. Five years ago in 2015, Bhutan had its first tiger census, where they gathered information about tigers within Bhutan. This information included things such as the tiger population in the wild of Bhutan. They found that 103 tigers existed in the wild of Bhutan.

This shows how small the Tiger population is within Bhutan. Which makes the photos taken of tigers within Bhutan recently great news.

You can see the recent photos of the tigers below!
