It's Adopt a Ferret Month.
The aim of Adopt a Ferret Month is to raise awareness about a cute animal which is sadly overlooked when it comes to adopting pets.
When most people think of adopting a pet, they probably think of adopting a cat or dog, it's good that cats and dogs are adopted, but there are also many other animals that are waiting for their loving furever homes in animal shelters.
Ferrets are cute and playful animals, and like all animals in shelters, they deserve a loving furever home.
You should never adopt a ferret or any pet from a pet shop or seller, instead you should adopt one from an animal shelter - charities like the Scottish SPCA have ferrets which need adoption, so if you are looking to adopt a ferret, then you should go to your local animal shelter where they will be able to help you.
Your local animal charity or shelter could also be able to give you advice on how to look after your ferret and what you will need after look them.
Ferrets are wonderful animals that deserve loving homes like all other pets.
