Being vegetarian and being vegan is similar, but two different things.
Vegetarians don't eat meat, but they do eat things like cheese or drink milk. Whereas vegans don't eat meat and they don't eat any animal by-products either. These animal by-products are things like cheese, eggs, milk and other dairy products.
