The wildlife charity 'Born Free' has a new urgent appeal.
The appeal is to help gorillas, but will also help other animals. Their urgent appeal is called 'Apes on the Edge'. 🦍
This urgent appeal is to help apes like gorillas. These beautiful animals lived in their millions just one hundred years ago, but now, their population is very small.
For example, the cross river gorilla population is only 250 to 300 today, making the cross river one of the rarest animals in the world today and critically endangered.
There are four gorilla subspecies, three of the gorilla subspecies are critically endangered and one is endangered.
This means all of the gorilla species are at risk of extinction.
