UK-Wide Big Garden Birdwatch Results For 2020, Who Is Number 1?




Number Ten: Magpies šŸ”¹



Magpies remain at number ten. These black and white birds were also at number ten on the Big Garden Birdwatch last year and remain at number ten this year.


Number Nine: Long-Tailed Tit šŸ†•



The Long-Tailed Tit is a new entrant in this year's Big Garden Birdwatch's top ten. These cute pink, white and blackbirds are becoming more popular in our gardens.


Number Eight: Robins šŸ”¹


Robins is another non-mover in this year's Big Garden Birdwatch, these cute birds were also number eight in the 2019 Big Garden Birdwatch.


Number Seven: Great Tits šŸ”¹


Great Tits also remain in the same place they were last year. In the 2019 Big Garden Birdwatch, Great Tits were al number seven, they remain in the same position this year.


Number Six: Goldfinch šŸ”¹


Goldfinches are noticeably distinctive with their red heads and yellow feathers. These birds are another non-mover in this year's Big Garden Birdwatch, they remain at number six.


Number Five: Blackbirds šŸ”»


In last year's survey, Blackbirds were at number four. This year, they have fallen one place to number four. The males are noticeably distinguishable with their striking yellow beaks.


Number Four: Woodpigeon šŸ†™


Woodpigeons are up one place from last year. In the last survey, Woodpigeons were at number five, this year these birds have climbed one place to number four.


Number Three: Blue Tit šŸ”¹



Blue Tits are another non-mover from last year. These adorable birds, with their blue and yellow feathers, are one of our most popular garden visitors.


Number Two: Starling šŸ”¹


The second most popular visitor to gardens in the UK is Starlings. These are another bird who hasn't moved in position from last year. Last year they were are number two as well.


Number One: House Sparrows šŸ”¹



The most popular bird this year seen in gardens this year is House Sparrows. House Sparrows were also number one last year, these birds retain their position at number one.
