While there has been bad news for Europe's bird species recently, there are two bird species in Europe that are having a happier story.

That's because two species in Europe - the Azores Bullfinch and the Red Kite - have seen their conservation status improve thanks to successful conservation work.

This great news was announced by BirdLife International, as part of their 'European Red List of Birds 2021' report. The report was published very recently. BirdLife International has sadly found that 1 in 5 bird species in Europe is now threatened with extinction. In the bleak news, the news about the Azores Bullfinch and the Red Kite seeing a better conservation status is welcoming and happy news.
