But, they are also an animal which many people are scared of.

But, another reason why Spiders are associated with Halloween, is because they are linked to witches (and witches have long been associated with Halloween).
It was believed in medieval times that Spiders (along with Cats and Bats), were the companions to witches. So, Spiders alongside witches became associated with Halloween. It's also said that on Halloween if you see a Spider, it means that it is a deceased loved one that has come to visit and watch over you.
So, if you see a Spider this Halloween, it might be a deceased loved one that comes to say hi. Which is a lovely thought to think about.
