The UK Government Creates New Action Plan To Help Animals

Snow Leopard

The UK Government has created a new action plan to help animals.

The new action plan is called 'Action For Animals' and is aimed at helping animals both here in the United Kingdom and in other parts of the world.

The UK government says that Action For Animals put animals and their welfare at the heart of this government - this is very welcoming news for animals.

One of the objections to Action For Animals is to recognize animals as sentient beings in law - recognizing animals as sentient beings in law is important, as it will acknowledge that animals are conscious and feel emotions like us, by doing this, we can help improve the world for animals as they are seen less as objects and more as living beings who are aware of the world around them.

Pets

The action plan for animals will also focus on other ways the UK government wants to improve things for animals, these things are -

. a ban on live animal exports

. a ban on people keeping primates as pets

. tackling puppy smuggling

. banning the imports of hunting trophies

. passing the world's toughest ivory ban

. cracking down on pet theft

. introducing compulsory microchips for cats

. new laws to crack down on illegal hare coursing

. restricting the use of cruel glue traps

. funding wildlife conservation projects

These are some of the many proposed changes and legislation that the UK government wants to make for animals and wildlife; they also want to 'ensure that animal welfare is not compromised in all our future trade negotiations.'

These proposals to create much more laws to help animals and wildlife are great news for animals and wildlife; it would help us create a kinder world for animals both at home here in the UK and the rest of the world.

The UK government calls this action plan for animals the first of its kind, which it does seem to be - hopefully the UK government's creation of this action plan for animals will help inspire other countries to create a plan like this.

This action plan for animals is very welcoming and positive news from the UK government, it is exciting and hopeful that a kinder and more positive world can and will be created for animals and wildlife through this action plan.
