The first Scottish Wildcats have arrived at a wildlife centre in the Scottish highlands.
The Scottish Wildcats have arrived at the centre to help save the Scottish Wildcats from extinction. Today, Scottish Wildcats are very vulnerable to extinction.
They are sadly critically endangered today.
Conservation work is being done to help save these beautiful cats from extinction. These wildcats have been introduced to a release centre where the cats will be prepared for a life in the wild, which is excellent news for these cats.
The cats have arrived at the Highland Wildlife Park, which is in the Scottish highlands. The first cat to arrive at the centre is called Nell.
Nell is a female cat who is young. The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland has said she has settled in well to the centre and will be looked after, given veterinary care and be prepared so that she can live a life in the wild.
They hope that Nell will have kittens. If she does have kittens, then, these kittens will be the first kittens from the centre which will be released into the wild when they are adult cats. This is exciting and offers hope to saving these beautiful cats.
