The European Union Votes To Brand Nuclear Power and Gas As 'green' Energy

Nuclear Power Plant

The European Union has voted to brand nuclear power and gas as 'green' energy.

The move by the European Union to brand nuclear power and gas as 'green' energy has resulted in criticism from environmentalists.

The wildlife conservation charity the WWF called the move as 'outrageous'.

The WWF were not the only ones to condemn this decision by the EU, others that condemned the move include Greenpeace and the Green Party Ireland.

One politician from the Green Party Ireland said about the decision: "I am so disappointed that today, MEPs voted to reject the exclusion of gas and nuclear from the #EUTaxonomy . It is greenwashing, plain and simple. This totally discredits the EU, and the European Parliament as "climate leaders".

The move from the EU to brand nuclear power and gas comes when the world is going through climate and biodiversity crises.
