The Big Butterfly Count Begins, Here's How You Can Take Part!

Beautiful Butterfly

The Big Butterfly Count is here, it is a summer event to help butterflies!

The Big Butterfly Count is run by the wildlife conservation charity: Butterfly Conservation. The Big Butterfly Count was first held in 2010.

The Butterfly Count begins on the 15th of July and lasts until the 7th of August: you can do your Butterfly Count any time between these dates and then submit your results to the Butterfly Conservation charity.

By taking part in the Butterfly Count, you will be helping Butterfly Conservation know about the butterfly populations in the UK, this will help Butterfly Conservation understand if there are butterfly species which are declining.

If wildlife conservationists know which species are declining then they can help prevent further declines and try and turn things around for the species.

You will be helping butterflies and other wildlife by taking part in the Butterfly Count. You can take part in the Big Butterfly Count - here!
