The good news about these cute animals is that 1,000 hazel dormice have been released into the wild in the UK. The UK government announced recently that the 1,000th hazel dormouse has been released in the UK, in an effort to help them.
Reintroducing animals back into the wild can help us to rewild places and bring back nature. Rewilding is essential for species recovery and, by releasing animals that are endangered into the wild, we can help save them from extinction - which makes these new releases of hazel dormice a good thing.
