Golden Eagle

There are plans to reintroduce Golden Eagles in Wales.

This will be the first time that Golden Eagles will return to Wales in about 200 years. Golden Eagles were once native to Wales, however, these magestic birds went extinct in Wales 170 years ago.

Golden Eagles became extinct in England and Wales in 1850.

In England and Wales, these beautiful birds were persecuated to extinction in the 19th century, while in Scotland in the 20th century these beautiful birds suffered persecuation through being poisoned with pesticides.

Sadly, Golden Eagles are still poisoned in the 21st century.

A Brighter Future

There looks to be a brighter future for Golden Eagles though, as Golden Eagles are set to be reintroduced in the wild of Wales.

According to a new report, the Golden Eagles will be reintroduced into Snowdonia in Wales. Snowdonia is a mountinious region and national park in Wales, so it looks to be the perfect place for the Golden Eagles to be reintroduced back into the wild.
