It is that time of year again, when 'I'm A Celebrity' is broadcast on TV in the UK.
The show is cruel towards animals, as it uses animals as a source of entertainment. Using animals as a source of entertainment is cruel and archaic.
The show has been condemned by the RSPCA and British Vets for its treatment of animals. The RSPCA wants to end the use of animals on 'I'm A Celebrity' because the show results causing animals distress, harm and death. The RSPCA also highlights that 'I'm A Celebrity' is portraying some animals in a negative light - they are right.
British Vets (The British Veterinary Association) also said this...
Insects, rats and reptiles deserve the same compassion and kindness as other animals. All animals are beautiful and important, they don't deserve to be used as tools for peoples entertainment; they shouldn't be killed or used in entertainment.
Animals that are used in 'I'm A Celebritiy' are also important for ecosystems, without them no other life would exist. Smaller animals are vital for healthy ecosystems, and therefore, they are vital for a healthy environment.
Our compassion and kindness towards animals shouldn't be determined by how cute they are or how intelligent they are, our kindness and compassion should be given to animals regardless of what they look like, as all animals experience emotions, and therefore, all animals experience fear, joy, love, stress and other emotions.
Please treat all animals with kindness and compassion. Nature is wonderful and we can learn a lot from it, instead of destroying nature and being ungrateful towards it, let's treat nature with respect and kindness. One of the ways that you can do this is by not watching 'I'm A Celebrity'.
