A new cute species of monkey has been discovered in Myanmar, in Asia!
The species is called the 'Popa langur'.
This species is named after the habitat that they have been found living within - they were found in Mount Popa.
Mount Popa is an extinct volcano, which is found in Myanmar.
These adorable monkeys were found in the forests near the Mount Popa volcano.
Although just newly discovered, the Popa langur is already in trouble.
The Popa langur is already in trouble because they have already been listed as critically endangered. As a critically endangered species, these adorable monkeys are very close to extinction - their population is very low.
It is estimated that the population of the Popa langur is around 200 monkeys. This makes Popa langurs one of the rarest animals in the world today. It makes these animals more endangered than the panda.
The discovery of this new species was made by the German Primate Centre.
