New Footage Of World's Deepest Octopus Species Captured

New footage has been captured of the world's deepest octopus.

This octopus is known as the 'dumbo' octopus. These cool animals are the species of octopus which are thought to be the species of octopus which is found furthest down the ocean.

But, perhaps there are still species of octopus which can be found which are found even deeper down the ocean that we haven't discovered yet.

Dumbo octopuses are found deep down in the Indian ocean.

They were given their name - the Dumbo octopus - because they look like the elephant Dumbo from the Disney cartoon; with their greyish and blueish skin.

These animals belong to a group of octopuses known as umbrella octopuses.

These cool animals don't face a direct threat from humans. And they face very few threats from other animals - one of the few animals which eats these octopuses are sharks.

They eat a wider variety of animals compared to the animals which consume them. Dumbo octopuses have a wide diet, which consists of animals such as shellfish.

These unique animals can be found in several oceans in the world, from the US to Australia.
