New footage has been found of the Tasmanian tiger, an animal which has been extinct for almost 100 years now. It is thought to be the last ever footage recorded of these animals.
Tasmanian Tigers were officially classed as being extinct in 1936.
The new footage discovered was recorded in 1935, so it was recorded just a year, or a few months before the Tasmanian Tiger went extinct.
The last Tasmanian tiger died in captivity. However, despite these animals being proclaimed extinct for almost 100 years now, there is still speculation that Tasmanian tigers are still out there, with people up to this day saying that they have seen the animals. Are these authentic sightings? Attention seekers? Or people thinking they have seen a Tasmanian tiger, but have really seen another animal, such as a dog?
There doesn't seem to be any hard evidence that these animals still exist.
You can see the last known footage of them below.
