Morrisons Is Switching From Plastic Bags To Papers Bags
The supermarket Morrisons is switching from plastic bags to paper bags, in a trial run in changing their bags.
The Morrisons trial run is set to run for the next 12 weeks, in 8 different stores in the UK, ahead of a planned national role our of the changing of bags.
Morrisons will be the first supermarket to remove plastic bags at checkouts while replacing them with paper bags for customers to use.
Replacing plastic bags with paper ones should be better for the environment, as plastic pollution is a huge problem in the world.
The only problem with the paper bag solution is that it could result in more deforestation, as, the more demand for paper, means that more trees will be inevitably chopped down to meet the demand.
Therefore, perhaps a better solution than paper bags is needed, such as reusable bags, that we can reuse again every time we go to the shop.
