Insects Decline By 41%, According To A New Report

According to a new report from Friends of the Earth Europe, 41% of the insect population is in decline. In other words, almost half of all insect species are now in decline.

The report is called Insect Atlas.

The report focuses on insects around the world, and therefore, the insect decline is a worldwide decline in these important animals. The insect Atlas report from Friends of the Earth Europe found that there were two main reasons that the insect decline was happening.

One reason the insect decline was happening, was the use of pesticides, specifically: heavy pesticide use by farmers is a major reason for these animals declining.

Another major reason why they found insects were declining, was due to other farming practices: industrial farming is also another reason why insects are declining worldwide.

The report also found that some species of insect were now facing extinction. For example, the found that 1 in 10 bee and butterfly species were now facing extinction.

They also found that one-third of insects were also facing extinction worldwide.

This isn't the first study that has documented and warned about the insect decline and potential extinction. For example, in April of this year, scientists warned humanity about the worldwide insect decline, and in February last year, they warned that the declining insect numbers threatened the collapse of nature. These are just two recent reports which have said the same about the decline in the insect population, there are also other reports which say the same thing.
