How To Take Part In Plastic Free July

Plastic Pollution

It is almost July, which means that it is almost 'Plastic-Free July!

The next month is 'Plastic Free July'.

Plastic Free July has been created to help encourage people to reduce the plastic that they use.

Reducing our plastic waste is better than recycling our plastic. This is because reducing the plastic we use is better for the environment.

It is better for the environment because plastic can only be recycled (at maximum) several times, which means that we are always creating plastic pollution when we use plastic. It also takes up to 500 years for plastic to decompose. Therefore, the plastic which we use today will still exist long into the future and after we are gone.

Plastic Pollution

The amount of times plastic can be recycled depends upon the type of plastic itself. It is estimated that plastic can only be recycled from 1 time to 10 times and then it cannot be recycled again. Therefore, when we are recycling plastic, it could be argued that we are just postponing the plastic pollution we create, rather than stopping our plastic pollution, so it would be much better if we tried to avoid the use of plastic when and where we can.

It would be better for the environment and wildlife if we reduce our use of plastic. But even better, it would help the environment and wildlife if we stopped our use of plastic altogether. Plastic Free July can help us to reduce and even stop our use of plastic.

How Do I Take Part In Plastic Free July?

We can all take part in Plastic Free July.

Plastic Free July has a website, where you can sign up and join millions of other people, by taking the Plastic Free July challenge.

By taking part in the Plastic Free July challenge, you can help to reduce your plastic usage, and therefore, reduce your plastic waste this July.

Plastic Pollution and Turtle

By reducing your plastic waste and usage, you will be helping the environment and wildlife, as the environment and wildlife are harmed and killed by plastic pollution, as animals get tangled or caught in plastic waste, animals often cannot remove this plastic waste from themselves and therefore they can sadly be harmed, or even die from the plastic pollution.

Animals are harmed by plastic due to the pollution plastic causes. This is why it is important to properly discard any rubbish you have: if you litter it causes harm to wildlife and environmental pollution.

How Can We Change Our Use Of Plastic?

We can all change our use of plastic to help wildlife and the environment.

Here are some ways you can do so:

. Use reusable bags when shopping, not plastic bags

. Use reusable cups for coffee, instead of instore cups

. Stop using plastic cutlery

. Use plastic products which have already been recycled

These are just some of the many ways that we can all reduce our plastic waste, perhaps you can think of more ways to reduce plastic waste?

By reducing our plastic waste, we can all help wildlife and the environment. By caring about our impact on wildlife and the environment, we can help to create a better and kinder world for all.
