Helping Bee: The UK's Bees Needs Week

The UK's Bees Needs Week is a way to care for Bees and raise awareness about these adorable animals. The week was started by the UK Government body: DEFRA.

This year, Bees Needs Week lasts from the 13th of July until the 19th of July.

It's also about raising awareness and caring for other pollinators.

In The UK, we've got several different pollinators.

These pollinators include:

. Bees

. Butterflies

. Hoverflies

. Beetles

. Wasps

All of these important animals can be found in different places and ecosystems. Such as gardens, forests meadows and farms across the UK.

But sadly, many of these animals are in decline.

The wildlife conservation charity Buglife says that 1) half of our bumblebee species are in decline. bumblebee, 2) two-thirds of our moth species are in decline and 3) 71% of our long term butterflies here in the UK are declining. Therefore, some of our most important pollinators are in decline.

But, we can help them.

This Bees Needs Week, you can help our pollinators. There are several ways that you can help these animals in your garden, such as planting flowers in the garden.

Such as putting a Beehive box in the garden...

Or, putting a Butterfly box in the garden...

Or, by putting an insect hotel in your garden...

These are just a few great ways to help these animals in the garden. Creating a garden with wildlife and insects in mind can be helpful for both them, the environment and us.

Happy Bees Needs Week! 🐝
