In the UK, millions of animals are tested on every year.
It is estimated that over 100 million animals are experimented on every year across the world. Some estimates say that there are 115 million experiments on animals every year, while others say that there are 192 million experiments on animals every year. That's a huge amount of animals and also, sadly, a huge amount of suffering.
The UK is one of the top countries to test on animals. There are several countries that carry out more tests on animals than the UK, these countries are - the United States of America, China, Canada and South Korea. The European Union is also one of top places in the world that experiments on animals.

How You Can Help
You can help create a kinder future for animals and stop animal testing in the UK. In a few weeks time across the UK, in England, Scotland and Wales, elections will be taking place. In England, it will be local elections which are happening, while in Scotland members of the Scottish parliament will be elected and in Wales, members of the Welsh Parliament will be elected.
Therefore, it's a great time to get involved in politics. You can tell your local candidates who are running for election what matters to you. In this instance, you can show that animals matter to you during these elections, through asking your local candidates who are standing for the Scottish Parliament and Welsh Parliament to create a kinder world for animals by helping to ban animal testing in the UK.
You can help do this with Cruelty Free International. It takes just a few seconds to help raise your voice for animals. You can do so - here. Thank you!
