Today is World Wetlands Day.
Happy World Wetlands Day! 💙
Wetlands are ecosystems of the natural world. Wetlands include ecosystems like marshes and swamps.
Wetlands can be permanently flooded with water, or they can be ecosystems which only have water in them seasonally.
It is estimated that wetlands are home to a massive 40% of all wildlife!
There are many different species of animals and plants found living in wetlands. Species of animals found living in wetlands include - jaguars, tigers, orangutans, frogs, dragonflies, many different species of birds, and so much more!
Wetlands are beautiful ecosystems with a fascinating variety of different animals and plants living within them.
Sadly though, wetlands are one of the most threatened ecosystems today. To protect the animals and plants that live in wetlands we have to protect these beautiful habitats.
Wetlands are important for the survival of many of the world's animal species, so protecting wetlands is important for these animals to survive and thrive.
World Wetlands Day is a great time to raise awareness about wetlands and the animals that live in them.
It's also a great time to appreciate that we have these beautiful ecosystems in this world, and that we are lucky to have them.
Happy World Wetlands Day! 💙
