Today is World Rainforest Day: Happy World Rainforest Day!
World Rainforest Day is celebrated on the 22nd of June every year. It is a great day to celebrate and appreciate the world's rainforests.
It is also a great day to raise awareness about the world's rainforests, and the animals that live within the rainforests.
The world has many different amazing rainforests, such as the Amazon rainforest, the Sumatran rainforest and the Madagascan rainforest - these are some of the beautiful rainforests that can be found around the world.
They are also home to some amazing and unique plant and animal species, as many different species are found living within the world's rainforests.
It is estimated that there are between 30 to 50 million plant and animal species living within the world's rainforests today. Many of these species have been discovered, however, scientists are always finding new species.
What Animals Are Found There?
There are many different animal species which are found in the
world's rainforests. These different animal species include -
. Lemurs
. Elephants
. Rhinos
. Orangutans
. Macaws
. Sloths
. Jaguars
There are many, many more animal species which are found in the world's rainforests, these are just some of the most amazing species which you will find there. Rainforests are worlds which are filled with such awesome life.
When we protect the world's rainforests, we protect the animals living there and we ensure that they have a home that they can live in. Saving the rainforests is essential if we are going to save the animals that live within them.
Rainforests are natural wonders that have existed on earth for millions of years - rainforests are estimated to have existed for 70 million years, which means that they existed during the time of the dinosaurs AND that they are the earth's oldest living ecosystems, which shows how long they have existed on earth.
They are beautiful ecosystems, with amazing animal and plant species living within them, they are one of my favourite ecosystems and I hope that we can save them and the rainforest animals for the future.
Happy World Rainforest Day!
