Today is World Oceans Day, happy World Oceans Day! World Oceans Day takes place every year on the 8th of June. The day was first thought of as an idea in 1992.
It began as a day that was officially recognized twelve years ago. World Oceans Day began in 2008 when it began by the United Nations (UN).
Each year there is a different theme surrounding the day.
The theme for this year's day is 'Innovation for a sustainable day'.
