Happy World Lemur Day! šŸ§”šŸ¾

Lemurs With A Pumpkin!

Today is World Lemur Day: Happy World Lemur Day!

World Lemur Day is celebrated on the last Friday of every October. This year, that means that World Lemur Day is celebrated on the 29th of October.

So, we are celebrating World Lemur Day this year just two days before Halloween!

World Lemur Day is a great day to celebrate these cute animals.

It's also a great day to raise awareness about these cute animals. Sadly, the vast majority of lemurs are facing extinction today, as 98% of lemurs are threatened with extinction. A further 31% of lemurs are critically endangered today.

The Recent News About Lemurs

The IUCN Red List published new news about lemurs last year.

Sadly, the news isn't good for lemurs. The IUCN Red List published their latest findings about the world's lemur species. They have found that a massive 98% of the world's lemurs - that means that 103 out of 107 lemur species are now threatened with extinction. They also found that 33 of the lemur species are now threatened with extinction. This means that lemurs are now at risk of extinction.

World Lemur Day, is a day to help raise awareness about lemurs and prevent them from becoming extinct. The good news is that there is still time to save lemurs.

Cute Lemur

Some lemur species only have a very small population. Here are some lemur species that are critically endangered and have a very small population today:

. The Golden Bamboo Lemur

The population of the Golden Bamboo Lemur is between 50 - 249 lemurs today: this makes Golden Bamboo Lemurs one of the most endangered animals in the world.

. Sahafary Sportive Lemur

The Sahafary Sportive Lemur is sadly incredibly close to extinction today, as they have a very low population. There are only 40 Sahafary Sportive Lemur's in the world today, making them of the most endangered animals in the world today.

The population of these two lemur species are just two examples of how close to extinction many lemur species are. To help save these beautiful and cute animals, we have to protect their rainforest home and ensure that they are safe to live in the world. Lemurs deserve to live in the world with us: it is their home too.

Did You Know?

Did you know that lemurs are so unique to the natural world that they are only found in one place in the world? In the natural world lemurs are only found on the island of Madagascar: making these cute animals unique to the world.

There are no other animals quite like cute lemurs.

Happy World Lemur Day!
