Where Are Pandas Found?
Pandas in the wild are only found in central China, they are found nowhere else in the wild. Pandas are found in mountainous areas of central China.
These mountainous areas have bamboo forests in them, these bamboo forests are high up, and they are cool and wet.
What Are Pandas Like?
Besides their cuteness, Pandas, like many other animals in the world, are solitary animals. Therefore, they prefer to be by themselves, rather than in groups.
Pandas also love to eat. Eat, and eat some more.
These cute animals can eat for up to 14 hours a day, meaning, that Pandas spend most of their waking hours eating bamboo.
What Do Pandas Eat?
Pandas eat bamboo. They don't really eat anything else.
What Is The Mating Season Like For Pandas?
Pandas mate during spring, they mate between March and May every year.
Once pregnant, the female Panda will usually give birth to one cub. The cub will stay with their mum until they are about 18 months old, before they become independent from her. Usually, female Pandas will give birth every 18 months.
What Is Their Conservation Status?
Pandas were once an endangered species, today, however, Pandas are a vulnerable species. Although they are classed as vulnerable, the Panda population is still very low today; there are less than 2,000 Pandas today.

Panda Day is a way to show love to these cute animals and raise awareness about them. It's a great day to celebrate everything about Pandas.
Pandas are vulnerable to extinction today due to their very small population. They also face several other threats. These threats to Pandas include: the destruction of their habitat, climate change, pollution and things like dams and roads.
The good news is, is that due to successful conservation efforts, the Panda population has been increasing over recent years, which offers hope for their future.
Panda Day is celebrated on the 16th of March every year.
