Happy National Serpent Day! 💚🐍

Today is National Serpent Day. 💚🐍

Happy National Serpent Day! 💚🐍

National Serpent Day happens on the 1st of February every year.

National Serpent Day is a great way to celebrate snakes and raise awareness about these beautiful and unique animals.

Snakes are instantly recognisable; they are one of the most recognisable animals in the world, as they are distinct, and unique.

It is estimated that there are over 3,000 known species of snake in the world today.

Incredibly, there are still new snake species being found today, showing that we still haven't discovered and don't know of all of the incredible life we share this world with.

What we do know, however, is that snakes are found living in most parts of the world - from colder climates, to tropical climates, snakes can be found in a variety of different habitats.

Even in the UK, there are snake species found living in the wild, The UK is home to three incredible snake species, they are - the adder snake, the grass snake, and, the smooth snake. The UK's snakes are found living in different habitats, for example - adders are found living in woodlands, health land and moorland, grass snakes are found living in grasslands and heathlands, and, smooth snakes are found in heathland.

National Serpent Day gives us the opportunity to learn more about snakes, celebrate them, appreciate them and raise awareness about these wonderful animals.

Happy National Serpent Day! 💚🐍
