National Nest Box Week is from the 14th of February to the 21st of February.


Happy National Nest Box Week!


National Nest Box Week began in 1997 by the British Trust for Ornithology, this week celebrates the 24th anniversary of Nest Box Week!


National Nest Box Week is a way for people to help wild animals in their garden by providing wild animals with nesting boxes.


It's also a great way to raise awareness about how wild animals are declining - by providing nest boxes in your garden, you help give nature a chance to thrive and survive, both in your garden and in nature at a time when nature is declining.

Our gardens can become mini-habitats, where we can provide space, shelter, food, and water for wild animals.


One of the ways you can help animals is by providing them with a nest box, or several nest boxes in your garden.


Birds are probably the most common wild animal that comes into our gardens. Providing bird boxes is a great way to help provide bird shelter in your garden.


There are many different beautiful bird boxes that you can put up in your garden. Bird boxes come in different shapes and sizes.


Different bird boxes are suitable for different species of birds.


National Nest Box Week is not just a week where you can help birds by providing them with nest boxes, there are also other animals you can help too with this.


You can also provide a nest box for bats.


Bat Boxes

Bat boxes are a great way to help bats, it gives them a place to shelter.


In the UK, bats have declined a lot over the last century, therefore, by providing a bat box or two bat boxes for bats in your garden, you can help them recover and once again thrive in the UK.


Beautiful Butterfly and Flowers

Hedgehogs will be coming out of hibernation in a few weeks, they are also another animal that you can help in your garden by providing them with a hedgehog box.


You can also help insects by providing them with nest boxes. There are butterfly nest boxes that you can put up in your garden to help beautiful butterflies, and, you can also help bees in your garden by providing bees with a bee nest box.

Finally, you can also help frogs and toads in your garden by providing them with a frog or toad home.


There are many different animals that you can help in your garden by providing them with a nest box. Nest boxes give animals a place to shelter and nest, which can help them survive and thrive.
