Happy National Meadows Day!

Beautiful Meadow

Today is National Meadows Day: Happy National Meadows Day!

National Meadows Day happens on the first Saturday of July every year, it is a way to celebrate meadows and raise awareness about them.

Sadly in the UK, only 3% of our meadows remain - most of the UK's meadows have been destroyed and lost in the last few decades, which is a great shame, as these beautiful ecosystems are abundant with wildlife.

Beautiful Meadow

Meadows are one of my favourite ecosystems and places in nature to visit, as they are so peaceful and beautiful and they are abundant with wildlife.

There are many different beautiful species of wildflowers which can be found in meadows. There are also many different insects found in meadows.

Larger animals can also be seen in meadows, such as - deers, birds, frogs, birds of prey, rabbits and many, many more.

Meadow

National Meadows Day helps us to appreciate meadows and encourages us to raise awareness about them.

With only a tiny amount of our meadows left, they deserve to be protected. They also deserve to be saved due to the large amount of life that they hold. Protecting meadows is important during a time when we are facing a climate crisis and biodiversity crisis.

We are blessed to have such beautiful ecosystems like meadows, and, spending time in them is one of the most joyful and relaxing experiences.

Let us protect our meadows for animals and the future.

Happy Meadows Day!
