Happy National Hedgehog Day! 💖🦔🐾

Today is National Hedgehog Day. 🦔🐾

Happy hedgehog day to our spikey friends! 💖🦔🐾

Hedgehogs are one of the most delightful animal garden visitors.

National Hedgehog Day is a great day to raise awareness about hedgehogs and celebrate these cute animals.

Right now, hedgehogs are still hibernating. Hedgehogs hibernate from November into March; they hibernate throughout the winter months.

Sadly, hedgehogs have declined dramatically in recent times, which means that they could do with our help. Protecting the natural world - their home - is a major way that we can help hedgehogs, another major way that we can help hedgehogs, is in our own gardens.

There are several ways that you can help hedgehogs in your own garden.

One way you can help hedgehogs, is by providing them with shelter - planting hedges and having a hedgehog home in your garden can help hedgehogs a lot. Also ensuring that hedgehogs can easily enter your garden is another great way to help hedgehogs, you can do this by providing them with a hedgehog highway.

Providing them with hedgehog food and water is another great way to help them, but don't give them milk or bread as it's not good for them.

Another way that you can help hedgehogs is by creating a wildlife-friendly garden. You can create a wildlife-friendly garden by creating a mini-meadow, planting wildflowers, not using fake grass or paving over your garden.

Finally, one last way that you can help hedgehogs is to keep it organic, don't use pesticides or other harmful chemicals in the garden -including slug pellets. Hedgehogs eat slugs, so you risk harming hedgehogs too if you use harmful chemicals like slug pellets.

Creating wildlife-friendly gardens will help you to make a home for animals right on your door step.

Happy National Hedgehog Day! 💖🐾🦔
