Cats were loved by the Ancient Egyptians.
Cats are still loved today, thankfully.
In the UK, we have a famous cat: Larry the Cat resides at the Prime Ministers home, at 10 Downing Street, in London.
Millions of people all over the world also share their homes and lives with cats, as cats are one of the most popular pets in the world.
National Cat Day is a great day to celebrate and appreciate the cats that we share our lives and homes with. It is also a great day to give them some extra love.
