Happy National Bird Day! đŸ„

Nuthatch

Today is National Bird Day, happy National Bird Day!

National Bird Day happens on the 5th of January every year. There are also other bird days during the year, so this National Bird Day shouldn't be confused with the other bird days.

For example, there is a National Bird Day for the UK, but today's National Bird Day is for the USA.

National Bird Day is a great day to celebrate birds in the USA.

The United States of America has a bird species as its national animal - the bald eagle is the national animal for the USA.

Bald eagles in America have made a successful recovery in recent times, their population in 2009 was estimated to be 72,000 birds, and today, their population is much higher at 316,700 birds, which is an amazing recovery, especially in a short space of time. It shows that animals can recover if we help them and allow them to recover.

They are also found in 48 different states, which means bald eagles are found living in most states in the USA.
