Happy Black Cat Day! 🖤

Adorable Black Cat

Today is Black Cat Day.

Happy Black Cat Day!

Black Cat Day was started ten years ago by the Cats Protection. Therefore, this year's Black Cat Day is a very special anniversary, as its the 10th Black Cat Day this year!

Black Cat Day is a way to celebrate these gorgeous animals and raise awareness about them. It is a good time to celebrate black cats.

Black Cats are beautiful animals.

Having a black cat as a pet is great. These beautiful cats are loving, playful and full of joy. They also look great with their gorgeous black fur coat.

Another reason that having a black cat as a pet is so great, is because black cats are like mini panthers. So, having a black cat as a pet is like having a mini panther.

The Outdated Superstition About Black Cats

October, especially just before Halloween, is a great day to have Black Cat Day, because there are outdated superstitions about black cats.

These superstitions are harmful to black cats.

They are harmful to black cats because these superstitions result in black cats being adopted much less than other cats, sadly.

Black cats deserve loving homes like all other cats do. But sadly, when black cats are in shelters people can often overlook them because of outdated superstitions like 'black cats are unlucky'. Which make these superstitions harmful to black cats.

Black cats aren't unlucky; they are a great source of joy and love!

Tragically, black cats also have a really hard time around Halloween time, as some people steal black cats and are cruel to them.

Therefore, if you have a black cat, it is best to keep them indoors and safe during the Halloween and Guy Fawkes season. Purchasing some toys can keep your lovely pet entertained during this time.

If you see a black cat out and about this Halloween season, the black cat isn't ''bad luck'' and the cat will not bring you ''bad luck''.

Those concepts of animals bringing ''bad luck'' are just centuries-old superstition which should remain in the past.

Instead of thinking about black cats being ''bad luck'', we can think of them instead as beautiful animals and appreciate their beauty and loving nature.

When we give animals love, they give that love back to us.

When we give black cats love and kindness, they give it back to us.

Happy Black Cat Day! 🖤
