The golden eagle population increases in Southern Scotland!
There is great news, as the golden eagle population has increased in the South of Scotland. This is the first time that the golden eagle population has increased in the South of Scotland in three centuries.
This is great news to hear for these beautiful animals.
The population of golden eagles in the South has increased.
Their population has increased a lot in just a few years. In 2018, there were fewer than 5 breeding pairs of golden eagles in this area.
Now, in 2022, the population of golden eagles in the South of Scotland has increased to about 33 golden eagles living there.
There is also more hope for golden eagles in Scotland, as NatureScot has announced that seven golden eagles have been released in the South of Scotland to further help the golden eagle population grow there. The seven birds were transported from the Outer Hebrides to the South for release.
Releasing more birds in the area could help grow the golden eagle population in the South of Scotland, this could help restore golden eagles in the South.
