Golden eagle chicks have been born on Orkney for the first time in 40 years.
It is also the first time that a pair of breeding golden eagles have been spotted on Orkney for the first time in 40 years, which is incredible news!
The RSPB has confirmed that a breeding pair of golden eagles have been spotted on Orkney in one of the RSPB nature reserves.
The staff at the RSPB nature reserve spotted the beautiful birds.
The RSPB is not disclosing the exact location of the golden eagles so that these beautiful birds are not disturbed. This is also a good idea, as birds of prey like golden eagles are vulnerable.
The last time that golden eagles were seen in Orkney was in 1982.
