Critically Endangered Royal Turtles Hatch In Cambodia

Critically endangered turtles, nicknamed ''royal turtles' have hatched in Cambodia. A total of 23 baby royal turtles hatched, which is good news, as these turtles are one of the most endangered turtles in the world.

The official name of this turtle is the Southern river terrapin. These animals are one of the top 25 most endangered turtles in the world.

It is welcoming news that there have been royal turtles that have hatched recently, as their population has been decreasing. It is estimated that there are between 500 and 2500 of these animals left in the wild today. Therefore, these new hatchlings are welcoming news.
