There is very sad news, as it is being reported that manatees are starving to death.
Manatees are herbivores, meaning that they only eat plants. There are at least three species of manatees, although, some believe that there are actually four species of manatees. The three confirmed species of manatees are - the Amazonian Manatee, the West Indian/American Manatee and the West African Manatee.
Manatees are cutely named 'Sea Cows'.
Manatees have also been linked and likened to mermaids.
Each of the manatee species has their own conservation status. The Amazonian Manatee, the West Indian Manatee and the West African Manatee. This makes the news that they have been starving to death even more worrying, as these animals are sadly already vulnerable to extinction today. It's also deeply sad.
The manatees have been starving to death in Florida. Over 900 manatees have already died, tragicaly they have been dying due to starvation.
