Coal Use Has Declined By 93% In The UK

Coal

Coal use in the UK has declined by 93%.

The decline in coal use in the UK has happened in the last decade. The news about the massive decline in coal use in the UK is great news for our environment and planet. This decline in the use of coal shows that the UK is making great progress in becoming more environmentally friendly.

UK coal mining has fallen to its lowest levels since the industrial revolution. The industrial revolution happened during the Victorian era; it was one of the biggest events to happen during modern history. The industrial revolution resulted in a boom in the coal mining industry in the UK. This boom in coal mining resulted in decades of dirty coal being polluted into our atmosphere.

Today, the coal mining industry has drastically declined. We do not pollute the environment today as we did during the Victorian era and 20th century. We have come a long way since that era of pollution.

And now it looks like we are heading towards the UK being a coal-free country soon, which will be great news for the environment.

Britain Becoming A Coal-Free Nation

In 2018, it was reported that Britain would be a coal-free nation by 2025. It looks as if Britain is well ahead of its goal to become coal-free by 2025; over the last two months, the UK has been coal-free for the first time since the 1880s, which is excellent news for our country and planet.

We seem to be five years ahead of schedule to become coal-free. With the UK looking to reach its goal of becoming coal-free several years before planned, it means that we can put our attention towards other environmental concerns in the country - include things such as saving our wildlife and rewilding our lands.

The UK is leading the way in tackling climate change by becoming coal-free. Together, we can tackle climate change to make our country and the planet healthier. We can do this for - the planet, people and animals. We can do this for people living today and for future generations.

The future can be much brighter than in the past!
