In today's advent calendar, we are celebrating Mountain Hares!
Mountain Hares are cute little animals that can change their appearance. They have a summer coat and a winter coat. Their summer coat is a greyish/brown colour, whereas, their winter coat is white. Their white winter coat helps Mountain Hares blend with the snow that happens during the winter and their greyish/brown summer coat helps them to blend in with mountainous areas they live in.
Their ability to change coats and their ability to survive different seasons in a tough environment (mountains), shows that these cute hares are resilient and clever.
Mountain Hares are found throughout the Northern hemisphere. They are found in countries such as - the UK, Russia, and the Scandanavian countries.
Mountain Hares are cute animals that deserve more protection in the wild.
