It has been reported that Brazilian vets are helping to heal Jaguars who have been caught up in the Pantanal wetland fires.

The vets are helping the Jaguars because, sadly, there have been Jaguars burnt because of the fires. The fires are currently happening in the Pantanal wetlands in Brazil.

The fires in the Pantanal wetlands. have been happening for months now. Animals like Jaguars - who live in the Pantanal wetlands - have been injured or killed by the fires.

The fires in the Pantanal wetlands this year, have been the worst fires ever recorded in this ecosystem. The Pantanal wetlands have never seen fires this bad. The fires are so bad, that Greenpeace has said that 2.3 million hectares of land have been burned this year so far.

Vets in Brazil have been working to heal Jaguars who have had their paws and bellies burned by the fires. Heartbreakingly, the vets believe that one of the Jaguars was walking through embers to save their cubs.
