What Are Beluga Whales?
Beluga whales are beautiful and unique species of whales.
These unique whales are not usually seen in the UK, so, it is a treat to see these beautiful animals grace our waters. Instead, beluga whales are usually found living in the waters in the Arctic. They are found in waters around places like Russia, Canada, Greenland and more.
Although these whales are rare to see in the UK, they are not endangered or critically endangered today. Instead, they are defined as being 'near threatened' with extinction, with a population in the wild of over 150,000 whales.
