Giant Pandas are one of the cutest animals in the animal kingdom.


These gentle giants are adorable and full of so much charisma. Giant Pandas eat a lot and sleep a lot, but, they also are very playful cute animals.


There is so much to love about these loveable big bears.


Where Are Giant Pandas Found?


Giant Pandas are only found in central China in the wild.


They are found nowhere else in the wild today. However, Pandas are also found in zoos in different parts of the world today.


What Is The Habitat Of Pandas?


Pandas are found in mountainous areas of central China.

Pandas are found living within forests in a few mountains in China. They were once found in other places in the wild. Pandas were once found throughout southern and eastern China, they were also once found in the north of Vietnam and Myanmar.


Pandas have disappeared from much of their historic range.


What Do Pandas Eat?


Pandas will largely eat bamboo; it's thought that a massive 99% of a Pandas diet is made up of bamboo, so, they really don't eat anything other than bamboo.


What Is Their Mating Season?


The mating season for Pandas is between March and May every year.

Pandas And Cubs


Female Pandas are pregnant for between 3 and 5 months.


Female Pandas will usually give birth during the summer in the wild, they will only give birth usually to one cub at a time. If the female Panda gets pregnant again, it will usually be about 18 months after the birth of her last cub - Panda cubs will become independent from their mum after about 18 months of being born.


Personality Of Pandas


Pandas are full of life. They are playful, charismatic and joyful animals.


But, Pandas are also largely solitary animals too, they prefer to be by themselves rather than living in groups. There are other animals in the wild that are also solitary animals, for example, Tigers are solitary animals who prefer to be on their own.

What Is The Conservation Status Of Pandas?


Today, Giant Pandas have the conservation status of 'vulnerable', this means that these cute bears are vulnerable to extinction today.


Pandas were an endangered species for decades, however, Pandas were removed from the endangered species list in 2016 and reclassified as a vulnerable species.


What Is The Population Of Pandas?


Even though Pandas are not considered an endangered species today, they still have a very low population - the Panda population is below 2,000 Pandas today.


The Panda population today is 1860 Pandas.


What Is Their Population Trend?


The population of Pandas is increasing today, which is great news!


What Threats Do They Face?


Although the Pandas population is increasing today, they still face threats in the wild. There are many different threats that Pandas face in the wild, these threats include - habitat destruction, mining, roads, pollution and climate change.

Pandas have five fingers on each hand, and, they have a 'pseudo thumb'.
