Amazing Discoveries: Bird In Borneo Found Again After 180 Years Of 'Extinction'!

Borneo Trees

An amazing discovery has been made in Borneo!

The Black-browed babbler is a bird species that is from Borneo. Until very recently, the Black-browed babbler hadn't been seen for 180 years.

The Black-browed babbler is found in the Bornean rainforest, however, these elusive birds haven't been seen since the Victorian era.

The Black-browed babbler was thought to be extinct, until very recently.

Recently, late last year, the beautiful Black-browed babbler was found again in the wild in Indonesia in the Bornean rainforest.

The bird was rediscovered in October 2020.

This is an incredible story due to how long they haven't been seen in the wild. It offers hope for other species that we have classified as extinct, as perhaps there are other animals still out there that we have classified as extinct, but still exist today.

Welcome back Mr Black-browed babbler!
