We are one week into our Christmas advent calandar, and today, we are celebrating Scottish wildcats.
Scottish wildcats are magical and wonderful animals.
Today, Scottish wildcats are only found in the Scottish highlands. They are critically endangered and only have a very small population left.
Scottish wildcats once were found throughout Scotland, however, due to being hunted by humans and their forests being destroyed by humans, the loss of their forest homes and persecuation has almost resulted in their extinction.
With Scotland being one of the world's nature depleted countries, due to the destruction of much of nature, rewilding Scotland and protecting nature is important to stop the extinction of Scottish wildcats and preserve them for the future.
