Happy World Vegan Day!
World Vegan Day is a day celebrated every 1st of November.
The first World Vegan Day began over 20 years ago; in 1994. It was a day established by the Vegan Society of the United Kingdom. The Vegan Society still exists today. The Vegan Society has existed for a long time - first being established in 1944, which makes the Vegan Society 73 years old. The Vegan Society promotes compassionate living and a vegan diet.
What Is A Vegan Diet?
A vegan diet is similar to a vegetarian diet. Vegans don't eat meat and they also don't eat animal byproducts, such as eggs and dairy products.
Vegans will also extent their lifestyle to other areas of their life. For example, vegans will also not wear any skins of animals, like fur or leather. And they will also not use products which have been tested on animals. Often vegetarians will also not wear the skins of animals or use products which have been tested on animals. Vegetarians and vegans live a similar lifestyle. A lifestyle which prominently focuses on diet, but not exclusively.
Vegetarians have their own day.
World Vegetarian Day falls on the 1st of October every year.
Vegetarian and vegan diets have seen an increase over the years. There has been a 987% increase in vegetarian and vegan food since 2017. A new report shows that a third of Britons have stopped eating meat. Meanwhile, the number of vegans in the UK has risen by 360%.
