The Persian Leopard Is At Risk Of Extinction because of hunting and poisoning, a new report claims. The Persian Leopard is found in central Asia, where Iran could be the big cat's last stand.
Both the snow leopard and the Perusian Leopard, are big cat's which live in mountainous areas of central Asia. Another common feature between the two big cat's is that both the Perusian Leopard and the Snow Leopard are at risk of extinction. They share another commonality, which is a common theme which runs through why wild animals become endangered, and that is - persecution by humans. Hunting animals is one of the main reasons why they end up endangered in the first place, these two big cats are no exception. We could avoid, or potentially limit many species becoming endangered by stopping animals being hunted. It could and would prevent species becoming endangered. Although, there are other factors which come into play which makes an animal become endangered; such as the erosion and destruction of their habitats.
Prevention is better than cure. Sadly though, for wild animals such as the snow leopard and the Persian leopard, the damage has already been done. Though, it's a damage which is not irreversible, yet. While they are alive, there is hope. And where there is hope there is an opportunity to save them.
