#1 They're Intelligent The Octopus is an intelligent animal. So much so that it is thought to be the most intelligent invertebrate. Animal intelligence is usually linked to animals such as chimps and crows, but animal intelligence doesn't stop there. For example, pigs are thought to be more intelligent than dogs. #2 They Feel Emotions Like us and other animals, the Octopus feels emotions. The feel a wide variety emotions that we feel, such as fear, pain, love and compassion. Their emotions mean that they can feel things in a similar way than we do; with their cognitive abilities also helping them the feel emotions. This happens through the animals being conscious of their surroundings.
