British wildlife is at risk of extinction, according to experts warnings. Species such as the hedgehog could become extinct in the UK if there is nothing done to revolutionize the way that agriculture is done in the UK.
British wildlife could be at risk due to modern farming methods. Which includes a reduction in things such as hedges on farmland. Hedges are important for animals like hedgehogs and birds in rural areas to survive.
Another reason why British wildlife is at risk of extinction is due to factory farming. Factory farming is harmful to the natural world, it destroys biodiversity and it also contributes to climate change, through emitting co2 gasses.
Lastly, wildlife is being harmed by the chemicals and pesticides used in modern day farming. These pesticides and chemicals end up poising animals like hedgehogs and birds, they also end up in nearby water systems, such as rivers, and poison marine animals.
Our strive to stopping species extinction should not just be about stopping deforestation, or the destruction of other habits. It should be about revolutionizing the way we do agriculture in a way that we don't harm wild animals, the environment and humans.
