There is great news, as the global rhino population has increased!
Rhino numbers now have increased to 27,000 rhinos globally in the wild.
This is an increase from their 2021 population, which was estimated to have been 26,272 rhinos.
It's not all good news though, as Sumatran rhinos and Javan rhinos still have very low numbers.
Both the Sumatran rhino, and the Javan rhino are critically endangered.
Rhinos face many different threats in the wild, such as - a destruction of their habitats (for example, the deforestation of the rainforest homes), they also face the threat of poaching (being hunted for their horns).
By protecting rhinos, and their habitats, along with rewilding, we could help further increase the rhino population.
